329. Bad week finally ending
Friday.
16:00.
Am home. I slam the front door so hard behind me abuts of concrete come off the wall. Thank goodness the week is over. Weirdly it has gone by quickly.
Yet I wonder. Am I safe? The week is not over yet so I decide to take no further risk. I make a huge pot of tea, take two slices of fruitcake (it is too early for alcohol but the fruit cake has rhum in it) and go and sit in the lounge.
‘Mum, you look as if you’ve settled down to binge watch and go through the 7 seasons in a weekend !’
She actually looks a little horrified at her mother behaving like this.
‘Why not? It’s funny. Well bits of it are funny. And I need some fun stuff.’
‘My week so far Baby: burglars come and take mum’s coat, mum’s complete set of keys being still in coat pocket, mum’s camera bag with camera and lenses including the one outside of the bag, mum’s laptop and mums phone. I spent all my free time talking to nice enough police men and robot like insurance people. Then on Friday I get to work and realise my coffee has leaked in my bag. The whole classroom smells like Starbucks and I have to hang my books on the radiator and dry everything with tissues soaked in coffee. So I think I can indulge in a bit of series watching !’
Baby seems to understand and while she starts a fire I get the cards out.
And the cards say that Justice is on its way.
