400. 400th post
400th post of the 4th year.
Today's started like this.
Opened the family photo album and there is a picture of Miss Organiser and her friend (who picked an internship[ in the island to cure a severely broken heart); both beaming (anyone out there looking to mend a broken heart? This seems to be working wonders) and standing next to huge surfboards. Of course the sand at their feet looked smooth and barely trodden and the sky a perfect blue and the two palm trees on each side of the frame were leaning towards the center, making a perfectly designed arched around the girls. Was this a studio photo? Probably not as the comment below read off to a waterfall hike next. Not even time for an emoji.
Then a quick flick of my finger tip and there's a darker photo, three human shapes in a cave, the middle one being Muddy Boots, beaming too under a hard hat with a light on top and green fluorescent gloves. Oh no my baby is on a speleology outing. In a dark cave.
And then a comment from their dad. I quote:
Nice photos. So glad your mum and I invested so much in your education that you can both swan about on tropical islands enjoying yourselves!!!
This made me laugh.
Baby asked what was funny. I said dad's comment. She said yes but that is so cool that I want you two to invest in me too. Be sure to mention it to dad I replied.
And ended like this.
Me sitting outside under the jasmine and the heady scent pouring all over me and sending me away to hot sandy places. A couple of blackbirds fighting in the climbing rose tree, its fragrance trying to compete with the jasmine in the warm evening air.
It's only when the bats were getting too numerous and zooming in far too close to me. Then quite a few weird noises started, tapping, scraping, scratching that I decided to move back indoors. But I did think about pitching a tent and sleeping out here in my back garden. Actually I rushed inside followed by some menacing insects chased by an army of bats.
