405. Motion fatigue

Thank goodness Miss Organiser’s week off work is over and she has put away her Tour Operator’s hat - how long for we do not know. But this morning I stood firm.

‘I’m having a lie-in.’

The first one in four weeks. And it’s not even a real one. I’ll be up and good to go well before 9. Here you get up early and you go to bed early. I have never in my life been in bed so early at night!

‘Take the car. You can drive yourself to whatever outdoorsy activity you’re doing today. I’m not getting up.’

She did not insist.

In 7 days I have taken off and landed 6 times - small aircraft’s but still; gone on board no less than 8 boats - from a tiny taxi boat to a medium size ferry on which all three girls abandoned me to go and be sick in the toilets. I have lost count of how many cars but I remember both rides on the back of a bicycle which Miss Organiser herself was riding, ignoring my protests about avoiding potholes because it hurt my buttocks (a lot).

That’s why today I want to stay put. If I could I’d ask the Earth to stop spinning.
