458. TGA moved from the back burner
The rest of the week goes by in a blur. I am furious and the fact that I am furious makes me even more furious because I know I shouldn't be. I get home and walk poor Ralph so fast that at one point he collapses on the grass and refuses to move. I take a few pictures of the peaceful landscape around me: grey low skies, empty paths, bare trees and in the middle of it all the immobile waters of the canal. All is still and peaceful.
And then before I know it is Monday again! Off I go to work, to greet the grumpy door woman, jam the photocopying machine three times and then give up because the paper is so cheap and thin that it's useless. That puts me in a bad mood. But the kids in the literature class are happy, one of them has won a football match at the weekend and France has won some sort of competition and they are pleased to inform me.
Period 4 has a feel of the old days when we used to chat in the corridor while the kids were in the classroom unsupervised. We have a good moan and a good gossip. There is a long mail to inform us about more meetings - one with an inspector - because the 'team' is not gelling properly. That should be a waste of time. It will be a problem if it is sunny!
While the kids are busy doing things which I really do not care about I take a look at my phone. Now that cheers me up. The TGA is back on the cards, moved at long last to the front burner. There's even a map! But it is not Africa it is America. And it looks like we'll be travelling for two years at last! Just as well I picked up this blog again. I need to practice. I start typing. These kids have already got their exams anyway. And the ones who don't? Well, I can't do anything about that. The teacher is busy. Shop's closed for a bit.
